Ash with Westmarsh WI @ Ash Village Hall

Ash with Westmarsh Women’s Institute meets the second Thursday of the month at 7.30pm in the Ash Village Hall.  New members are welcomed.

Programme for 2019

Saturday 6th April – the Annual Spring Quiz – 5pm for 7.30pm contact Sarah Stephenson on 01304 813 530 if you would like to book a table.

11th April Howard Smith speaking on the History of Rupert Bear.

9th May Discussion & voting on this year’s two Resolutions to go forward to the NFWI Annual Meeting in June plus a display of Ash WI Archives.

13th June Newcomers meeting to which all ladies all welcome to join us; four crafts, jewellery making, simple lace making, card making and a demonstration by a local artist will be on display and demonstrated, with tea and homemade cake to follow.

11th July  Paint your own ceramics with Faye Penston.

August – BBQ – date & venue TBC

12th September  The Life of a Blue Badge Guide with Dick Bolton.

10th October Treasures in your workbox with Linda McCann.

14th November AGM followed by some light hearted entertainment.

5th December  Candle lit Christmas Party (Please note there will not be a meeting on 12th December)

Churchyard Bash is Back @ St Nicholas Church

We start at 9am this month and helpers spend as much time as they are able to mow, cut, sweep and weed in the parish graveyard around St Nicholas Church.  We are hoping for a good turnout of the faithful regulars and anyone else who would like to join the team. Lunch is provided to reward the worthy labour!

Ash Society – Winter Programme @ Ash Village Hall

The Ash Society opens its Winter Programme on Thursday 17th October, with an interesting talk by Dr Geoff Doel on ‘Legendary & Ghostly Kent’ . In November it will to the “Red Arrows”  and a return visit by one of our favourite speakers, Melanie Gibson-Barton in December. More details to follow.

Ash Parish Council Planning Commttee Meeting @ Ash Village Hall Library

Ash Horticultural Society @ Ash Village Hall

March’s event will be a talk on Riverhill Himalayan Gardens which members will be visiting in June.  The competition will be a vase of daffodils.

Please note that the Rose Show has been rescheduled and will now take place in the Situation Gardens at 7.30pm on Thursday 20th June.  There will be a Spring Show – details to follow.
